Giddy-up! Today’s Road Trip: Close to Home enjoys a visits Rocking Horse Ranch in Highland.
Rocking Horse Ranch sits on 500 acres in the Hudson Valley - it's an all-inclusive resort that offers fun activities for the whole family and, in the fall, there's no shortage of things to do! “Rocking Horse Ranch is family destination and we offer more attractions than any of your cruise ships,” says Steve Turk, of Rocking Horse Ranch.
There is unlimited horseback riding, indoor and outdoor pools, delicious meals and snacks, live shows, entertainment, activities and adventures.
“We have horseback riding in one of the largest, if not the largest, horse operations in the world at over 120 horses. We have Chef Paul's famous Fall Festival and he offers local cheeses and wines and fruits from the immediate Hudson Valley region. We have so many Halloween activities including trick-or-treating, Halloween costume contests and of course Doug Wonder, The Famous Mysterian,” says Turk.
And there are plenty of other animals to see - they have a camel named Chip, a zebra named Zoe, and Bonnie and Clyde - Scottish Highland cows.
There are four seasons of fun, and plenty of things to do indoors like BB gun shooting, laser tag, and archery. “We have big splash indoor water park. We have mountain tubing and, of course, we have Fall Fest,” says Turk.
You can always spend some time on the lake kayaking, or enjoying the outdoor water park, featuring four new waterslides, and two heated pools with geysers. “We have a very loyal following and we have families who are generational that come up sometimes two and three times a year. Grandparents find that we are the perfect destination to bring all the grandchildren up and have a no fuss family get together,” says Turk.
And with so much to do at Rocking Horse Ranch, sometimes you just want to relax, kick back and enjoy the fireplace!
