An anti-bias task force met with Riverhead community members Tuesday night after the town attorney's wife allegedly made a racist post on Facebook.
Dianne Delaney Kozakiewicz, wife of town attorney Robert Kozakiewicz, posted the rant. He apologized for his wife's post and blamed it on her substance abuse issues.
One woman in the crowd came to defend the attorney, while many said they want to see him held accountable for his wife's actions.
There were calls at the meeting for the town attorney's resignation, but the task force does not have the power to recommend that. Instead, it will move forward with programs aimed at healing the community.
