Tensions are rising following several documented instances of ICE enforcement operations this week in New Jersey.

Community leaders said 11 men were detained by ICE in a Morristown raid, spurring clergy and advocates to host a "rapid response training" on Thursday.

"We want to make sure that we are prepared for what if this happens again or when it happens again," said the Rev. Luana Cook Scott.

Cook Scott is the senior pastor at Morristown United Methodist Church.

She told News 12 residents have questions about just how much they can intervene.

"There's such heightened violent intentions right now that we want to create a network where we can respond and support one another," the reverend said.

Activists and faith leaders hosting Thursday's session said bearing witness and documenting interactions with ICE are key to nonviolent intervention.

"We don't want to impede law enforcement. We have no power over ICW. What we do have is the ability to stand in solidarity with our community and to keep a watchful eye," Cook Scott said.

Over 60 clergy members in Morris County signed a statement of solidarity speaking out against the Sunday raid in Morristown.

Warren County Democrats confirmed multiple individuals were removed from their cars and detained in Somerset County on Monday.

The Township of Princeton confirmed two people were detained near a school on Thursday.
