A Freehold native and United States sailor is reunited with his lost dog.

Paulo Silva was deployed for the last nine months. While he was away, he asked a family member to watch his golden retriever, Archie.

But that family member gave Archie away to another family.

Silva shared his story online, and with the help of the public and Toms River police, the pair were reunited.

Silva had Archie for five years.

He says he is working with a nonprofit to get a new puppy for the people who cared for Archie the last few months.
