Belmont Park's overhaul is starting to take shape.

News 12 got an exclusive look at the progress, including a much smaller - but more modern grandstand - which will seat about 10,000 spectators.

The track itself can still hold the same capacity as before, thanks to designated green spaces and making the track's infield accessible to the public for the first time.

NYRA's president says their board will make a decision soon about where to run the 2026 Belmont Stakes. This year's race will be in Saratoga on June 7th.

It was announced Wednesday that the Breeder's Cup will return to Long Island and Belmont Park in the fall of 2027.
