A West Babylon family says they had to move out of their apartment at the Fairfield Suburbia Gardens complex after nearly two years of unsafe living conditions.

Andrew Parrish said he, his wife and their young daughter moved into the complex in August 2024 but quickly began dealing with roaches, mice and accumulating garbage outside their unit. He said the problems worsened over time and continued despite repeated attempts to get help from property management.

After struggling to get answers and end their lease early, Parrish said he turned to News 12 for help.

“You guys were the first people to reach out. I feel like there’s a bigger story here,” Parrish said. “I feel like there’s so many problems that need to get fixed. So many people are suffering and don’t speak about it. It’s kind of crazy.”

The family ultimately moved out at the end of December 2025 and are in a costly battle due to the lease agreement with Fairfield Properties.

News 12 has reached out to Fairfield Properties for comment and is awaiting a response.
