The acting superintendent in Newburgh plans to eliminate at least eight administrators in the Orange County school district.
Dr. Lisa Buon says the savings would fund classroom support, such as teaching assistants. Some board members question the cuts and suggest they might block some.
The superintendent presented data showing Newburgh has 35 administrators, compared to about half that number in similar-sized districts.
