Ex-NYPD officer sentenced to 27 years in Brooklyn slaying, attempted murder

Former NYPD Officer Yvonne Wu has been sentenced to 27 years for the killing of Jamie Liang and attempted murder of Jenny Li.

In October 2021, Wu used her NYPD-issued weapon to shoot Liang and Li at Li's Brooklyn home.

Wu was sentenced to 22 years in Liang's death and five years in the attempted killing of Li. The sentences will run consecutively.

Wu had pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter and one count of second-degree attempted murder.

Liang was Wu's alleged ex-girlfriend.

Li has an order of protection against Wu.
