The ex-fiancee of Nassau County Legislator Carrie Solages released cellphone video that she says shows the lawmaker's actions the night he was arrested over the summer. 

Solages was arrested in June and charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child. In September, a Haitian-American news and entertainment operation called TELE-Image posted an interview with Marie Angeline Vincent, in which she describes the Nassau legislator as a man who struggles with drugs, alcohol and anger.

"He messed up, he cheated, he got caught, he decided to leave, he decided to put his hands on me, and as a result my daughter called the cops," she told TELE-Image. 

One night in June, Vincent says Solages returned to their Valley Stream home in a fit of rage, looking for his "weed." She tells the TELE-Image reporter that a cellphone video was recorded as the altercation was taking place in front of their 3-year-old son.

Vincent says that the verbal and physical abuse carried on over the course of their five-year relationship, but she hesitated to contact police because Solages had convinced her that he controlled the department.

Solages overwhelmingly won re-election despite the charges he is facing. He declined to comment when News 12 visited his Elmont law office Thursday. 

Solages pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. He also declared his innocence in a Facebook post shortly after his arrest.

Nassau County Executive-elect Laura Curran released a statement Thursday saying in part, "What Carrie Solages has said and done is wholly unacceptable and he should resign."
