Evans Ganthier claims innocence in 2009 Rebecca Koster murder; says he panicked
The man accused of killing a Medford woman in 2009 says he did not kill her, but panicked when she died.
Evans Ganthier, of Port Jefferson Station, is accused of killing Rebecca Koster, mutilating her body and lighting her remains on fire behind a Foxwoods casino in Connecticut.
According to Newsday, Ganthier told a detective he took action after she accidentally tripped on gym equipment in his garage and hit her head.
Police say the two met on the night of her death. Ganthier is charged with second-degree murder.
