Do you want to break away from the everyday hustle and bustle? News 12's Marissa Santorelli highlights a peaceful escape to the blissful acres of Riverdale Park.
Fifty acres of wildlife, a canopy of trees overhead and the calm sounds of nature at Riverdale Park is the perfect recipe for a peaceful walk outside of the concrete jungle.
Park Ranger Ben Young says this peaceful escape has beautiful sights to see any time of the year.
"In the summer time, it's kind of a cool oasis to escape from the heat of the city. In the winter time, you can encounter eastern screech owls, great horned owls, bald eagles and ospreys all working around and fishing in the river," says Young. "And then in the spring, you can come and see the different kinds of blooms and flowers that are starting to emerge."
With all of the greenery, breathtaking views and the peaceful sounds of nature, the Riverdale Park will have you forgetting you're even in the Bronx.
"You can actually come here and feel like you're getting away from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle a little bit," says Young.
