A group of senior citizens from Elmont are still waiting to go home, four months after their building was flooded during a storm.
The complex on Foster Meadow Lane was evacuated during a storm in late September.
The building management company, Wood and Ruff, and Nassau County pointed fingers at one another over who was responsible for the repairs.
The displaced residents are being housed by Nassau County at the A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility in Uniondale free of charge.
It’s not clear when the repairs might be completed. The Nassau Fire Marshal says there has been no update on repairs to the building’s fire protection system.
The building management company has not responded to comment requests from News 12.
