Elmont man accused of stabbing fellow NICE bus passenger following argument

Nassau police say the incident happened as the bus was traveling on Hillside Avenue near Aster Drive Tuesday afternoon.

News 12 Long Island has learned a NICE bus passenger in New Hyde Park was stabbed in the chest after an argument with another man onboard the bus.
Nassau police say the incident happened as the bus was traveling on Hillside Avenue near Aster Drive Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the male subject grabbed the victim by the neck, making it difficult for him to breathe and stabbed him in the chest causing a severe laceration. 
At this time, police say the bus was coming to a stop and the subject fled on foot.
Police say the male victim then walked to the front of the bus while advising the driver that he had been stabbed and the police were called.
The 67-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
A short time later, Eon Marques, 43, of Elmont, was placed into custody. 
Marques was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, mincing and criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation.
