Sebastiano Patino Caceras pleaded guilty to spray-painting antisemitic phrases on fences and outside a Jewish Center in April.
He must undergo six months of bias prevention training, perform 100 hours of community service and take a guided tour of the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center in Glen Cove.
Successful completion of these conditions would reduce his probation from five years to three.
Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly says using education and awareness to teach defendants about how their actions affect the community will help in the long run.
The HMTC hopes it will be able to turn people's minds and hearts around and to realize what they did was wrong.
