East Islip Pipe Band heads to Scotland for world championships

The band is almost entirely comprised of Long Islanders, with different families represented by different generations.

For over four decades, Roisin Dubh Irish Pipe Band in East Islip has been marching and playing all over Long Island and the Northeast.
Now, they’re heading overseas, contending for a world championship in Scotland this weekend.
The band is almost entirely comprised of Long Islanders, with different families represented by different generations.
The band’s Pipe Major, Bill LePage, tells News 12 being able to compete at this level has taken five years of hard work – and now they are ready to compete on the world stage for the first time.
