An East Hampton mother pleaded guilty Wednesday to killing a priest in a hit-and-run DWI accident last year.
Forty-three-year-old Karen Fisher pleaded guilty to the 10-count indictment, which includes manslaughter. Fisher admits to drinking seven glasses of wine before crashing in July and killing 79-year-old Monsignor William Costello.
Prosecutors say Fisher's plea caps the sentence to a 10-year maximum, while a jury verdict could have sent her to prison for 15 years. Sentencing is scheduled for March 1.
