The illustrator for one of the most beloved comic book characters of all time was a Long Islander.

And an exhibit featuring the work of the late Stan Goldberg is on display at the Suffolk Historical Society.

Goldberg -- who lived in Hampton Bays -- was a comic book legend. His career spanned 65 years as an illustrator including with Marvel Comics.
