For a small village, Greenport has a whole lot of restaurants, including Ellen's on Front - a restaurant owned by a brother and sister.

The siblings didn’t have kitchen role models, but at a young age, Jennie Werts discovered that she loved to cook.

She went to culinary school, worked in several restaurants in New York City, then two years ago opened the restaurant with her brother Andrew in downtown Greenport.

The family restaurant serves American comfort food with some twists. It also has a full bar that includes local beers.
