East End: Eastport General Store

A lot of people have lived on Long Island their whole life and never heard of Eastport. It's actually a community on the Southampton-Brookhaven border. And since last October, it's also been the home of a unique shop - the Eastport General Store.
Eastport was a place that Amber Otto never knew anything about, even though she grew up in another East End community, Montauk. She knew right away it was a place she wanted to call home - and eventually opened the store in a building that was long vacant.
She sells everything from food to cookware to artwork, virtually all of it made by people on the East End, Long Island or New York State.
There, you'll find soups, gourmet frozen pizzas, jams, jellies and dog treats, all produced locally. Even the escargots are snails raised on the North Fork.
