24ds agoIf you take the Long Island Expressway for your commute, drivers are urged to leave extra time this week for travel.
Parts of the LIE will be closed for bridge cleaning between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Work starts Wednesday in the westbound lanes between exits 56 and 57.
It will then move to exits 53 and 55 on Thursday.
Some eastbound lanes will be impacted from exits 53 to 57 on Friday.
