One person is dead after a crash on the Southern State Parkway in Nassau County.

The incident happened eastbound near Exit 29 in North Massapequa around 11:30 pm, according to police.

The driver, Abraham Toribio, left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a light pole and multiple trees.

The 20-year-old was ejected from the vehicle during the collision, according to police.

He was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

Unsafe speed and slippery pavement were contributing factors with this collision, police say.

Nobody else was hurt.
