A single-vehicle crash on the Heckscher State Parkway left one person dead Monday morning in East Islip, according to police.

Authorities say it happened east of Exit 45 just after 5:30 a.m.

All eastbound lanes were temporarily closed following the accident.

Police have yet to disclose the cause of the crash or the victim’s identity.
