The city has plans to finally fix a problematic walkway on the Pelham Parkway.
According to the Department of Transportation, there's a new proposal to make over the dirt path that meets Pelham Parkway South between Narragansett and Tenbroeck avenues.
People living in the area have complained that the walkway is dangerous. They say it leads right into a recently installed guardrail, forcing them to climb over the barrier while avoiding traffic as they make their way to work or school.
The DOT says it reviewed the issue following a number of complaints and found it to be a priority.
The project would include a traffic light, and crosswalk and barrier modifications, providing pedestrians with easier access to the Bx12 bus stop.
Work is expected to get underway this coming March.
