The NYS Department of Motor Vehicles is joining in on the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

In commemoration of the historic occasion of our nation’s founding, the DMV has unveiled an “United States of America 250” license plate.

The red, white and blue plate, introduced at an event on Tuesday, features and image of the United States and stars.

“It is a great way for New Yorkers to display their love of country and express their appreciation for all America has to offer,” said DMV Acting Commissioner Christian Jackstadt.

The specialty item costs $60 and is available for purchase on the department’s website or at any DMV office across the state.

It is offered for passenger class vehicles only and can be personalized for an additional fee.
