A new and thrilling experience is now open at Mohonk Mountain House.

Guests who stay the night can sign up for a different side to adventure with its Pinnacle Ledge Tour and Via Ferrata.

Both experiences require a waist harness and safety briefing.

Over the span of a couple of hours, the Pinnacle Ledge Tour walks you through historic paths that lead to a narrow aerial walkway.

While staying securely attached, your guide will walk you through every step that spans from one ledge to another, about 75 feet above ground!

Mohonk Mountain House President Eric Gullickson says the experience is multidimensional. It takes advantage of vast views from a unique point alongside stretches of exposed rock and cliff faces.

You also have the chance to take your adventure to the next level with the first and only Via Ferrata in the Shawangunk Mountains.

It fuses the thrills of expert-guided rock climbing and views unique to our region.

"It allows people, who otherwise wouldn't feel inclined to do a normal rock-climbing experience, an easier way to get into this and to have a cliff face experience," Eric says.

Traversing steep landscapes and ledges can make you feel challenged, inspired and connected to nature in more ways than one.
