If the Islanders don't win in Game 7 against the Capitals Monday, they'll never play another game at Nassau Coliseum.
The thought has some diehard Isles fans going to extreme levels to snag pieces of history.
Over the weekend some fans were spotted searching the stadium dumpsters for mementos, proving that one man's trash is truly another's treasure.
Among the beer cans and cups, the fans snagged things like parking signs, pieces of plexiglass with game-worn dings and dents and pictures of the building.
"It's garbage, but you know what? Not for us," said one.
They even uncovered a huge Canadian flag that they felt deserved a better burial than in a dumpster.
