Elon Musk announced last week that Linda Yaccarino, a native Long Islander, will be CEO of the social media platform.
The announcement for the Deer Park native comes after a Twitter poll Musk posted in December where he asked whether he should step down as the head of Twitter.
The majority of the 17.5 million votes said yes.
On her Twitter profile, Yaccarino thanked Musk and wrote, "I've long been inspired by your vision to create a brighter future. I'm excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together!"

In comparison, Twitter’s final quarterly revenue as a public company, reported in July, was just $1.17 billion. AP Wire Services contributed to this report.
