A Babylon Town pool in Deer Park was closed Tuesday after a man drowned.

Police say 20-year-old Maruful Haque, of Deer Park, drowned in the 13-foot pool earlier in the morning.

According to police, a Babylon safety officer was patrolling the area and spotted several young adults inside trespassing. While questioning them, he noticed Haque lying motionless at the bottom of the pool. The other youths ran. Haque was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pool closes around 8 p.m. and is surrounded by a 10-foot fence. Officials say the pool has been cleaned and is expected to reopen Wednesday.
