The Department of Environmental Conservation announced Wednesday that they detected two additional anomalies at Bethpage Community Park after using ground penetrating radar.
They say it was discovered on Monday in the recently cleared area under the baseball field.
Northrup Grumman is looking into developing work plans around the areas of detection.
The final results of the soil and drums are in, but the DEC is reviewing them before fully releasing them.
The DEC says there is no exposure risk to other areas of the park.
In a statement, the DEC says, "DEC continues to oversee the investigation and cleanup activities at Bethpage Community Park to determine the full nature and extent of contamination and the presence of any additional drums buried beneath the site. The discovery and removal of the drums present no immediate threat to public health and safety at the site and DEC is working with its partners at the federal, State, and local level to ensure the protection of public health and the environment. The drums removed from the site will be disposed of at an appropriately permitted facility equipped to receive the material in accordance with state laws. DEC continues to hold Northrop Grumman accountable for the cleanup of Bethpage Community Park."
