An out-of-control driver left a path of destruction three miles long Monday, ending with a deadly crash on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa.
Police say it began when the driver of a dark green Infinity sideswiped a car on Straight Path. Investigators say the Infinity clipped several other cars as it drove westbound down Sunrise Highway before finally colliding with a blue Ford Focus at the Louden Avenue intersection. The driver of the Focus was killed instantly.
Police say the driver of the Infinity and his two young daughters, ages 4 and 8, were taken to Nassau University Medical Center and are expected to make a full recovery. Investigators are examining if a medical condition was responsible for the accident.
