Businesses that were left without wages following Suffolk County's cyberattack finally received their checks on Thursday.
Many small businesses, like day care facilities, are paid to help the county - but have not been paid since the cyberattack.
Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy says around $140 million is owed to small businesses because checks have had to be cut individually and not electronically.
Day care owners Stacey DeMaio and Melissa Cahill say their businesses were pushed to the limit without the payments, but say they received some of the money the county owes them on Thursday.
They say their businesses still need to be paid in full.
"You have providers out here that are really working hard - we're working 12-to-13-hour days for our communities and to not be paid is disheartening," DeMaio says.
The county says every vendor will be paid and is trying to get payments out as quickly as possible.
Kennedy tells News 12 that Suffolk County is hoping to get new payment software up and running.
