Coronavirus vaccines are being given out at more local pharmacies as of today.
CVS locations in Bethpage, West Sayville, and Manorville have all started administering shots to those 65 and older. News 12 Long Island was at the West Sayville pharmacy where they set up a table in the front of the store to assist those who were able to get an appointment.
One worker told News 12 all of the appointments at that location were booked in minutes.
Shots are given by the pharmacy and are set up similar to when a flu shot is administered.
News 12 has encountered people who were walking in and sharing their frustration about not being able to get an appointment.
One woman told News 12 she was up at 4 a.m. on Thursday with eight devices open. Another said she had an appointment and drove more miles than she had in 11 months, only to realize she hadn’t clicked the confirm button.
There are currently no appointments available at the West Sayville location.
Customers are being told pharmacies will get more supply next week and to keep checking for appointments.
