Cuomo announces $65M plan to revitalize Jones Beach
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced plans today to make $65 million in improvements to Jones Beach as it marks its 85th anniversary this year.
The five-year plan includes multiple new food venues and more space for recreational activities.
An adventure play area with a zipline, rock climbing wall and splash pads will replace the current pitch and putt golf course. The Central Mall will also get a facelift - fixing the mosaic and fountain and adding a garden.
The project is expected to bring more than 620 jobs.
The state is planning a public meeting in May to get feedback before going forward.
