State police: Bristol man killed in Route 72 crash in Harwinton

Police say a Mazda was driving south and a motorcycle driven by 40-year-old Jhonatan Jiron, of Bristol, was directly behind. When the Mazda slowed down to make a left turn onto East Church Road, Jiron rear-ended the vehicle.

A Bristol man was killed in a crash Saturday that involved a motorcycle and a car on Route 72 in Harwinton, Connecticut State Police say.
They say a Mazda was driving south and a motorcycle driven by 40-year-old Jhonatan Jiron, of Bristol, was directly behind. When the Mazda slowed down to make a left turn onto East Church Road, Jiron rear ended the vehicle.
As a result of the collision, Jiron was killed. Jiron's motorcycle was heavily damaged.
The Mazda had minor damage to its left rear bumper. The driver, a Burlington woman, sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention.
The roadway was shut down while officers investigated the collision.
