walking crossing Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown and seriously injured.
Detectives say the incident happened just before
midnight.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and wasn't
hurt.
The crash shut down Hempstead Turnpike west of Jerusalem Avenue for
hours overnight.
