Southbound Merritt Parkway is closed in Westport between Exits 27 and 21 after a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

The incident was reported early Monday at 4:15 a.m. Serious injuries are reported and a Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Squad unit is on scene to assist.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
