Two children were critically injured in a two-vehicle crash in Ridge Tuesday morning.
According to a police release, Lindsey Brown, 39, was driving a 2005 Suzuki southbound on Randall Road when she attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Route 25. Her vehicle was struck by a 2000 BMW driven by Mark Helupka, 29, who was traveling westbound on Route 25.
Brown's two daughters, ages 5 and 6, who were seated in the backseat of the vehicle, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where they were admitted in critical condition. Brown was admitted for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Helupka was not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
