A cow reported missing months ago from a farm in Manorville has been found.
The cow was found at Pine Hills Golf and Country Club and corralled on Wednesday night.
Strong Island Animal Rescue was able to get the cow named "Vienna" into a corral by gaining her trust with food and luring her in.
Frankie Floridia says they set up cameras to track her and a fence system to catch her.
"We were spending nights in the car - it was freezing, we couldn't turn the heat on, we couldn't speak to each other - it was pretty grueling," Floridia said.
Eddie Stepinski of K9 Search and Rescue came out every night to feed Vienna by putting dishes out for her.
"I wanted to save her - I felt really bad for her," Stepinski said. "Cows, they're not the type of animal that can do good on their own. They need to be around a pack and she was out here alone."
Vienna is heading to Skylands Animal Sanctuary & Rescue in New Jersey to live. She will join "Barney the Bull" who was rescued in Mastic in 2021
"We had a lot of great rescues this year, but catching a 1,000-pound animal and seeing it go off to have a great life was a great feeling," Floridia said.
