A Bay Shore man is being held at a Suffolk County jail without bail for allegedly sexually abusing women while posing as a ride share driver Thursday.
Raul Guaman, 43, admitted to multiple charges including criminal sex acts, unlawful surveillance and sexual abuse.
According to court documents, Guaman could have been posing as a ride share driver to pick up female victims.
In Riverhead court Wednesday, Guaman said through a translator that he did not pose as a driver and "met them and got friendly with them."
Guaman did admit to taking video of a Brightwaters woman through her bedroom window. Police say he then broke into the home to sexually assault her sister.
He was under police surveillance after that incident on Nov. 14, 2021.
A few days later, police say he was pulled over for driving through a stop sign in Bay Shore.
When police searched his phone, they found videos dating back to January 2019.
Guaman also kept the women's drivers licenses and cellphones.
Laura Ahearn, of the Crime Victim's Center, says women should ride with another person and verify the ride share driver.
In court, the judge certified Guaman as a sex offender.
