Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray is taking action against alleged corruption within her town.
Allegations of corruption are being hurled at Hempstead's Building Department. Murray has demanded the resignation of Anthony Disabato from the Plumbing Examiner's Board following complaints he used his position on the board to certify his own shoddy work.
Officials say charges against Disabato have been filed and he will appear in court in September.
Murray also announced an investigation, set to begin next week, into Building Inspector Carmine Salute. The town supervisor said any work with Salute's "fingerprints" would be looked at to determine if any crimes have been committed.
