A Coram man accused of shooting a Suffolk police officer has been charged in a 13 count grand jury indictment.
According to court records, 20-year-old Janell Funderburke will face a judge on Thursday on those new charges including first-degree assault and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
That is along with the existing top charge of attempted aggravated murder of a police officer.
As News 12 has reported, police say Funderburke shot officer Michael LaFauci in the leg while he was being investigated for an armed robbery.
Officer LaFauci was released from the hospital last week.
