Connecticut is part of a group of Democrat-led states filing a lawsuit over a new Trump administration policy focused on transgender care.

The policy would bar hospitals that provide care such as puberty blocker for minors from participating in Medicare and Medicaid.

The states claim the policy interferes with their administration of Medicaid and goes against the authority of states to regulate medical practices and violates the Administrative Procedure Act.

The lawsuit was filed by 18 states and the District of Columbia.
