News of The Brooklyn Mirage’s eventual demolition is taking its toll on the music world and from fans near and far.

It's been a very bumpy ride for Brooklyn Mirage, ever since the venue was scheduled to reopen in the spring.

Now, demolition requests are closing a chapter many are not ready to let go of.

This year’s troubles started with a paused reopening back in May — after the Department of Buildings said the venue did not meet safety standards.

As a result, several shows were either canceled or needed to be relocated.

Then, the Mirage’s parent company Avant Gardner filed for bankruptcy, and in a now deleted social media post —- there was once a promise of a 2026 return.

“My thing is that separating the management from the Brooklyn Mirage,” said Julio Perez, who attended concerts at the venue frequently. “Brooklyn Mirage is one of the best venues in the world. Losing that would be doing a lot to the identity and will make things all over the place.”

Some may argue issues were brewing long before now — when bodies were found in the area back in 2023.

For now, the question of what comes next is top of mind.

News 12 reached out to Avant Gardner for comment but has not received a response.
