Partially plowed roads result in drivers getting stuck in the snow
The Brookhaven Highway Department says more than a dozen trucks broke down while plowing the more than 3,000 miles of roads in the town.

More than 48 later, Long Islanders are still digging out, and many are saying they are doing it on their own.
Yagmur Kan, in Middle Island, got her car stuck on Currans Road.
“Well, because of the snow removal yesterday I thought I was safe to go out," she said.
A News 12 crew helped dig her out.
A half mile away on Island Bay Avenue, a school bus got stuck in the unplowed parts of the road.
Residents there say they called the Town of Brookhaven to let them know more plowing needed to be done.
After News 12 called the town's Highway Department looking for answers, plows came to clear the rest of Island Bay Avenue.
Residents say they're frustrated it took this long to clear the road.
“I've been here 25, 30 years I forget. This is the first snowstorm , not even a big snowstorm. This is the first time they haven’t touched this road," said Don Quinn, of Middle Island.
“We’re getting through those roads that we know are still narrow. Those cul-de-sacs that haven’t been pushed all the way open," said Daniel Losquadro, Brookhaven Town highway superintendent.

They say they are working the best they can to plow everyone's street.
In Nassau County, people are also having similar issues with messy roads.
On Southwood Circle in Syosset, plows came by to clear a path large enough for one car to get through, but it’s still a mess on the side of the road.
“A few cars got stuck today," said Daishan Harris, of Massapequa.
Harris who works at a group home on Southwood Circle, says he hasn’t seen many plows come by the neighborhood.
“I've seen the majority of the community...getting the snow out of the streets," he said.
A spokesperson for the Town of Oyster Bay says cars parked in the street are preventing plows from fully clearing the block, and they'll be back Wednesday to continue the cleanup.
