A Dix Hills family who lost their son in the Parkland, Florida shooting got some financial relief from the owner of plane they chartered after the massacre.
The parents of shooting victim Scott Biegel got half of the $36,000 they paid the Talon Air company to charter the flight from Republic Airport down to Florida after the shooting.
The family says they had no problem with the $18,000 cost to fly down to Florida, but posted the bill on Facebook because they were outraged that the company charged them another $18,000 just to fly the empty plane back home.
The owner of the company found out about the bill and refunded the family $18,000. The owner then donated another $18,000 to a memorial fund in their son's name.
