Commuters on the Island Monday are paying a little more to get to work.On the Long Island Rail Road, there are 4 percent hikes on weekly and monthly tickets. Prices for one-way, round-trip and 10-trip tickets have gone up as much as 7 percent.Tolls on the George Washington Bridge and the Holland and Lincoln tunnels have shot up from $6 to $8.Some LIRR customers at the Hicksville train station said the increases caught them by surprise and forced them to be late for the morning commute.
