The North Massapequa Fire Department has found a temporary home after flames tore down their headquarters on Christmas Day.

Volunteer firefighters were heartbroken when their firehouse went down in flames.

"We're used to spending Christmas mornings together as a family--not watching our home go down in ashes," says North Massapequa Fire Commissioner Ralph Raymond.

The department received monetary and equipment donations from people in the community.

They are now set to temporarily move to South Farmingdale Fire Department's second station until their firehouse is rebuilt.

"The day of the fire I walked up to their chiefs and said 'I have a building--we'll give it to you and give you what you need,'" says South Farmingdale Fire Chief Michael Mackie.

Fire officials say they are continuing to respond to fire and Emergency Medical Service calls just days after the fire.

They say they're hoping to get half of the firehouse operational in about two months.
