The Brightwaters community is sending support to a letter carrier who could soon be out of a job.

Lawn signs and bumper stickers read “Save Matt the Mailman.”

Matt has been delivering mail in Brightwaters for about nine years. But neighbors say he was recently suspended without pay. The United States Postal Service would not tell News 12 why. Residents say it’s because he placed holiday notes in mailboxes without postage.

The lawn signs and bumper stickers are available at Brightwaters Beverage. The lawn signs cost $8, the amount it cost to make them.

A USPS spokesperson said they do not comment on personnel matters.
