A Commack teenager is helping to make the holiday bright for children who can't be home to celebrate.
Joseph Barragato created Wichards Winter Wonderland on Wichards Boulevard to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The LIU Post student puts up holiday decorations on his family house every year to spread the holiday cheer.
He says his love for Christmas started as a child when his mother would take him around to see decorations.
Barragato says he and his stepfather started with a few decorations and now there are over 75,000 lights and 150 displays.
The centerpiece of the wonderland is the donation box for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Barragato says he has been raising money for St. Jude's for two years and has donated $2,000 to help sick children and their families.
"The one charity my mom was always, always in love with was St. Jude's and whenever you see the commercials on TV, it always broke her heart and it's really sad," Barragato says "But I figured, let's take the one charity that my family loves and let's donate to them."
Barragato says people who come by can donate whatever they want.
The display will be up until Dec. 27.
