An 8-year-old third grader from Commack created his own Roblox video game called Wolf House — and is now making thousands of dollars.
Zach Key has been playing Roblox games since he was 3 years old. His parents told him that if he wanted to keep playing, he should learn how to code his own game. His dad, a software engineer, helped him bring his vision to life.
More than 1,000 people have played his game since it debuted in November. Roblox officially recognizes Zach as a creator and pays him for every user who plays.
“I think they’re cool because they like to play my game,” Zach said.
“All his friends now, they want to make games too,” said Ken Key, Zach’s dad. “And when I hear that, that's everything to me. I'm like, wow, now he's inspiring kids. This is — who cares about this game. This is bigger than that.”
Zach says he has big plans for the summer and will be releasing a Roblox basketball game soon.
